Welcome to Corfe Castle CE VC First School.  We do hope you enjoy looking at our website.  We are all very proud of our school and we would like to share just a little of what we do through these web pages.  We, like the children, staff and parents to take an active part in helping put this work together, so we will be adding more exciting pages throughout the year.  Please bear with us when certain pages are missing, we promise to get them onto the site when we are all happy that they are a true reflection on what we do.

Our School

The school was built in 1895 but has been extensively modernised, two new classrooms being added in 1964.  In 1995 we celebrated the centenary of the laying of the foundation stone and in January 1996 the centenary of the opening of the school.  To mark the occasion the governors arranged for a gallery to be built at one end of our large hall, giving us much needed library space, plus the complete re-building of the school swimming pool.  In 2008 we had new playgrounds, including a fenced Early Years outdoor classroom.

During the Summer Term the children have the opportunity to swim most days, weather permitting!

Our numbers vary from year to year from approximately 60 to 85 children.  The school is organised into three classes with an overlap of age ranges in some classes. Children move from one class to another at the discretion of the teachers and at 9+ they move on to either Wareham Middle, Swanage Middle or Sandford Middle schools.
