Nurture

At Corfe Castle Primary we pride ourselves on being a nurturing setting for our children.

We have established a ‘Meet and Greet’ morning club for children who struggle to settle into school in the mornings. This consists of providing the children with a healthy breakfast and giving them an opportunity to socialise and discuss any of their concerns for the day ahead prior to entering their classroom. 

We have also recently established a Nurture Group which runs three times a week.   Nurture Groups are an effective, evidenced-based approach supporting Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (SEBD) in an inclusive manner. Through successfully addressing the barriers to learning, Nurture Groups result in both improved academic attainment and improved health and wellbeing.

On a Thursday, we are now offering forest schools to a wide range of children. This is a fabulous opportunity for the children to explore our wonderful forest school space and to learn outside. Forest School is an inspirational process, that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a woodland or natural environment with trees.
