Palm Sunday

This Sunday (5 April) marks Palm Sunday – the day on which Jesus rode a donkey into Jerusalem like a King. We discussed our thoughts on whether Jesus was a king, and a king to and for whom. Click here to see a video link to remind you of the story

Churches across the nation are closed, however perhaps we can join some of the virtual celebrations.

The Missionaries of the Holy Spirit posted this idea on their Facebook page:

"What if everyone on Sunday April 5 in the morning, puts a branch on the door of their house or on the window, to celebrate Palm Sunday? It could be any green branch you can get. This would help, despite the social distancing, to be connected as we enter into the Holiest of Weeks. Want to join? We may be physically isolated, but not separated. We are united as the body of Christ. We are the Church."

Alternatively, you could make your own. Follow this link Paper palm crosses

How else could you make a symbol of the cross? Materials? In the garden? I will leave it to your imagination.

Take pictures and post them to your teacher on Dojo. We can make a collection of images for the newsletter next week.

On Sunday, a popular hymn to be sung is ‘All Glory, Laud and Honour’; here are three links to choose from for you to learn the hymn and join in:

Good luck and we wish you all the very best as we prepare to enter the last week of Lent.
