Hours and Opening Times
Our School Day
We open the school gates at 8:30 where parents are welcome to gather on the school playground. Our external doors to the classrooms open at 8:40am where the children will be greeted by their teacher and work will be set out ready for their day to begin. We will close these doors at 8:45am and register the children.
Break time for the children is between 10:30-10:45am.
Lunch time is for the children is between 12:00-13:00.
The school day ends at 15:15. At the end of the school day, teachers will lead the children out of school to the playground where parents and carers will be waiting to collect the children. If your child goes on the bus or to after school club, they will be taken directly to their next destination by a member of staff.
If your child is going home with someone other than their parent or carer, please inform the class teacher or school office.
Our school week consists of 32.5 hours a week.
Our children get to school in a number of ways:
- By foot, bike or scooter: Children are encouraged to walk, cycle or scooter to school where possible and safe. There are special bike and scooter racks in the playground.
- By car: The school has its own car park which is shared with the Pre-School. It is quite small so please try to walk or cycle if possible. It is adjacent to the school field and you can walk into the school and Pre-School directly from the car park without having to go back onto East Street.
- By bus or taxi: Buses run from the outlying villages from as far as Kimmeridge into the school. Your child may also be eligible for a taxi to school if there is not an appropriate bus on a particular route. Please contact us for more information.
Parking around the school is limited. The school's own car park is only for staff cars and cannot be accessed by parents.
Parents are able to use the village hall car park for drop off and pick up only.
