Our Learning
2025 - 2026
Autumn 2
This half-term, on a Tuesday morning we have ventured out into the community, either down to the Forest School or to the local library (these have been on alternate weeks).
In our Forest School Time, we have been having so much fun splashing in puddles, playing in the mud and investigating which things float and sink, along with problem solving how to retrieve things from the middle of the puddles.
When visiting the library, we have been listened to some lovely stories including Christmas ones. Normally Inge Squirrell teaches us some number rhymes. The children then get time to explore the books which they really enjoy.
Further community activities have included: visiting the castle and walking around the local area.
In November we did lots of activities around Bonfire night and fire works ending in a bonfire snack and using a sparkler. We were able to have lots of discussions about safety, colours, how we celebrate with our families and for snack making choices by writing their names on tickets and selecting which food they would like.
We have practiced putting on our socks and shoes and been busy exploring ice and how to break it and what happens when it gets warm.
The children have also enjoyed doing bigger puzzles this term and working together to complete them.
December was very busy practicing and performing in the Christmas play 'Babushka' with reception class and joining in with the whole school for a Christingle service.
Happy Christmas
